Ruth Connolly

An author with a passion for wildlife and nature, Ruth Connolly has had many amazing wildlife encounters on a world trip to over twenty-two countries. Snorkelling with whale sharks in the Indian Ocean, diving with manta rays off the coast of Mozambique, marvelling at glow-worms while floating through an underground cave system on a rubber ring in New Zealand and viewing condors soar above the Colca Canyon in Peru, to name just a few!

Ruth’s favourite wildlife experience was her time spent volunteering at an animal refuge in the Bolivian Amazon. It was here she met Gato, the rescued circus puma who became the inspiration for Max, the jaguar in her novel, Refuge

Ruth lives with her family and two rescue dogs by the Irish coast. She is a marine mammal rescue volunteer with Seal Rescue Ireland. Her favourite place is the beach where she enjoys wild swimming, dancing and singing with her sea pals all year round. In her free time, she loves to play the saxophone and djembe drum. Ruth is working on her second novel.
